Sports Hub Meeting in Newport

Arrangements have been made for a second meeting of the Newport & Wormit Sports Hub on Monday 24th March at 7pm in the Blyth Hall.

Any sports clubs in Newport and Wormit are invited to send a represenyative to help scope out any needs that their club may have and consider how a sports hub may assist them.

I would be pleased to provide more details.

Mrs Susan Reid

A big thank you to the police for all their efforts in trying to find Mrs Susan Reid who has been missing from home in Newport for nearly a week now.

Guardbridge developments

The University of St Andrews is getting funding for a Renewable Energy Centre in Guardbridge and this is very good news.

The University is holding a couple of drop in events at Guardbridge Primary School on Thursday 20th February from 3.30 pm to 8.00pm and also on Saturday the 22nd February from 10.00am to 1.00pm.

I hope that anyone interested will pop along.

The University will also have plans for other proposals for the mill site which will be of interest to the local community.

Newport Skateboard Park

At last week's meeting of the North East Fife Planning Committee, the skateboard park at Waterston Crook in Newport was approved.

The young people who are part of the collective should be congratulated on the work they have put into this.

It was also agreed that a liaison committee would be set up to address any concerns of local residents once the park was open.
